The Foundation Housing Leeds Team provides supported accommodation
for single homeless ex-offenders. The Leeds Team manages over 140 properties
throughout the Leeds area.
START Accommodation
This scheme is for people directly from prison or of no fixed abode.
Most properties are multi occupancy and is short term. It’s our
aim to move you on within 6 months. You would normally receive daily
visits from your Support Worker.
Shared Housing
You will share with one, two or three of our other customers. You would
normally move on between 6 months and a year before moving to a trainer
flat or single tenancy. You would receive at least four visits a week
from your support worker.
Trainer Flats
These are self-contained properties where you would receive at least
4 visits a week. Unlike single tenancies, these properties are not permanent
and after about twelve months we would hope to move you to a single
tenancy.
Single Tenancies
These are self-contained flats or houses. You would normally be signed
over to the owner of the property after one year if you are comfortable
with living independently.
DTTO (Drug Treatment & Testing Orders)
If you are housed on our DTTO scheme you will have a tenancy in a self-contained
flat or house where you will receive regular visits from your specialist
Housing Support Worker. The emphasis will be on providing intensive
support and advice on a one to one basis and liasing with local treatment
providers and other relevant agencies. It is envisaged that by working
closely with your support worker through an individually tailored support
plan which will mirror the requirements of your Probation Supervision
Plan, we can help you to make a positive change in relation to your
drug use.
A.R.C (Attaining Resettlement Confidence)
This scheme is designed to provide Mental Health based Housing support
in a safe domestic environment. All our A.R.C tenancies are self-contained
flats or houses. A Mental Health Housing Support Worker will visit you
in your tenancy between 2 – 5 times per week. As an integral part
of your support, your support worker will attend Care Programme Approach
(CPA) meetings and reviews where required. In keeping with other Foundation
Housing accommodation schemes your support worker can act as an advocate/representative
for you at your request.
Y.O.T (Youth Offending Team)
This scheme is open to customers of the Youth Offending Team who are
homeless or vulnerably housed and in the need of housing related support.
If you are living in one of our Y.O.T properties, you will normally
be visited by your support worker a minimum of 3 times per week. Support
will continue for a period of 12 months or until you are 18 years old,
whichever is the longer. It is hoped that by that stage you will have
developed coping skills and be able to move onto independent living.
Safer Communities
The Safer Communities scheme is emergency direct access accommodation
for 16 –25 year olds. All the tenancies are self-contained flats
or houses. Normally you would stay in this accommodation for between
approximately 3-6 months. At this point move-on accommodation will be
provided through our existing schemes. Whilst on the safer communities
scheme you would receive a minimum of 3 visits from your support worker.
